The squash section was founded in 1971.
Port Shepstone Country Club boasts three courts, one being glass backed. We are part of the LSC Squash Association and affiliated to Squash SA.
On the local front our Squash Club fields 4 teams in the LSC winter league each year sponsored by Halfway Toyota. Each team comprises 5 players, from A league to the fifth player normally from the C league.
The format has worked very well where all three leagues now participate and get to know each other. The lower league players are exposed to high end squash and marking that they would not normally experience.
Sheppie also hosts a doubles competition at least once a year. This is a fun day with music and noise and fining and we have been very lucky and privileged to attract players from Durban who have upped our game tremendously.
Squash at Port Shepstone Country Club costs about R650 p.a. plus the costs of the lights. Depending on how often you play you could spend about R75pm if you played 3 times a week and your partner also pays for lights.
The lights are purchased by buying a “light’s card” from office or from the barmen.
Visitors cards are available but the cost is reduced if you become a member.
The courts are open every day. Monday nights are normally the most festive nights and if you don’t know anyone but would like a game then that is the night to come ad play.
League is on a Thursday night and the Winter league runs from May until the end of August.
The LSC Champs follow immediately and normally comprise a prize giving ceremony and braai.
Come and play, get fit, live healthy, make good friends and enjoy life!!
We have 3 courts available, one with glass back.
